Beacon to launch new research into young givers’ attitudes to philanthropy

On Thursday 22nd April, Beacon Collaborative and Savanta will publish brand new research into young and wealthy individuals. The research is the culmination of eight in-depth focus groups with thirty-one young givers.

While a considerable amount of research has been carried out on the general barriers to charitable giving in the past, little has focused on the up-and-coming wealthy and their relationship with philanthropy. Our new research seeks to address this gap in knowledge.

The launch session will include insights into:

  • the relationships millennials want with charities;
  • how charitable organisations can connect with millennials;
  • how millennials currently give;
  • millennial attitudes to philanthropy;
  • how millennial givers self-identify.

Fundraisers, wealth advisors and charity sector professionals will find this research particularly valuable. The findings will help them to better understand the needs of young givers and develop long-standing and ultimately fruitful relationships with the next generation of wealth holders.

The launch event will run from 1-2pm, and will consist of a presentation of the research and its 10 key findings. Attendees will be encouraged to interact, asking the research team questions about the report and what it means for engaging with this demographic moving forward.

The research has been commissioned by Arts Council England.
